A month after the original tournament date, the EFC 94 Girls finally played their Beat the Heat finals match against TSC 94 Red. In August EFC swept bracket play with a 7-0 win against Norman Fury 94 and a 6-0 shut out of Edmond, but the tournament was canceled when torrential rain hit Edmond and flooded the complex. The championship match took place at the Tulsa United complex on Sunday, September 16. EFC scored early in the first half and fought hard to preserve the win with a final 1-0 victory over TSC 94 Red.

They eliminated a team from Bixby in the semi-final match which set up a final match against the host team, Hurricane’s top 94 girls. Although only losing by a small margin, they were the only team in the tournament to stand their ground against the HFC team and their coaches and parents are very proud of their amazing effort.

94 GIRLS CAPTURE CHAMPIONSHIP
What a great year of U12 Soccer for the EFC 94 Girls. Every game we played was a close and exciting game against a very talented bunch of teams. We coaches would like to personally congratulate the girls on their accomplishments. The girls stepped up to meet all teams and, win or lose, walk away with their heads held high and a smile on their face because they knew they gave their best and had a great time playing the game.

We would also like to personally thank all the parents for supporting the team this year. A lot can be said about the girls’ effort this past year but we truly believe, if the team does not have the support of the parents, it makes it twice as hard to get the effort and teamwork out of the players. This is a great team of players and parents. We are all very excited about moving up to 11v11 next year and adding more outstanding soccer players and parents to our team.
