#10 Always in our Hearts

EFA is always looking for new coaches. If you are intersted in a coaching opportunity, please contact Dave Yates or Doug Mitchell for more information.

EFA ALREADY LOOKING TO THE FALL
With the spring season coming to a close, EFA's focus shifts to this summer and preparing new EFA teams for the fall.

The Extreme Academy says "goodbye" to the highly successful EFA 98 Girls and wishes them the best of luck at this June's Extreme Futball Club's 2008-09 competitive tryouts. The 98s were the first group to play in the Academy all 3 seasons (U8-U10). '98 coach and Academy Director, Doug Mitchell prepared them well for the step up into competitive and now hands them off to EFC Director of Coaching, Dave Yates to continue their climb to the next level.

The '99 Girls return as the most senior Academy group with coach, Chris Geissler still at the helm while the '99 Boys prepare for their 2nd season of ODL with Alex Miranda. The 2000 girls and boys also return for fall 2008 with Mike Taylor taking over the head coach position for the girls assisted by Teresa Collins.

The 2001 boys are girls squads are forming now! INTRO TO THE ACADEMY starts May 2008 so don't miss out! Details are posted below.

WHERE COMPETITORS BECOME TEAMMATES
The Extreme Futball Academy (EFA) is open to all U8, U9 & U10 players in the Tulsa area and its surrounding communities. Its purpose is to provide advanced skill training to young area soccer players from competitive level coaches and trainers in a fun, but focused environment.

At the Extreme Academy, our job is to give the young pre-competitive player the tools and knowledge to make an informed decision when considering trying out for a competitive level team. EFA is not for players that find recreational soccer difficult. It is for dedicated players (and parents) that desire and are capable of competing at a higher level and want the opportunity to practice and play in a more challenging environment on a consistent weekly/seasonal basis.

WHO CAN REGISTER?
Any parent that considers their child as having the ability to compete at this level, and therefore be appropriate in the devleopment of that player or child, can register with EFA. This is an open registration, however; decisions should not be made on a purely status level to be a part of the EFA program. The decision must be based upon what is in the best interest of the player by providing the best learning and developmentally appropriate training and playing environment possible for them.

HOW ARE TEAMS FORMED?
There are no tryouts for the Academy program. Players will be placed in a "player pool" that train and compete in matches based on their natural abilities and developmental progress. Teams will be divided based upon the number of players within that age group according to ability. Team format will depend upon the amount of players within a specific age pool.

There will be opportunities to move between teams, but this decision will be made by the age group coaches based on the player's best interest. Each age group will have 2 practice sessions per week. Each session will be approximately 1-1/2 hours in length and consist of age and ability appropriate fun activities. Players that participate in the EFA Program and Academy League will play a minimum of 50% of each game.

For more information please contact EFA Director, Doug Mitchell at Extreme Academy Info.
