WHAT IS EXTREME?

NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA EXTREME FUTBALL CLUB” is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of the more committed soccer player by providing the highest level of instruction available thereby preparing him or her to be a proud representative of EFC at local, state, and regional competitions. The Extreme Futball Club strives to produce confident players who have not only reached their full athletic potential, but are also prepared to become active and productive members of their community.

Selection to an Extreme Premier team requires a full year commitment. Players are financially responsible for and expected to participate in the fall and spring season plus all of the team’s scheduled tournaments. EFC team selections are accomplished through a combination of summer tryouts, and coaching assessments throughout the year. Tryouts are open to all players including players from other area clubs, and each team will go through the tryout or re-selection process every summer.

At the end of each Spring soccer season, the Extreme Futball Club holds open tryouts for the next year’s Premier level teams. Current club members and players who have been members of Extreme teams in the past are not guaranteed positions on future teams. At Extreme, all players are required to tryout. Tryouts are governed by Green Country Soccer Association rules and are conducted each June on a date specified by GCSA and the Oklahoma Soccer Association.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

WHO SHOULD TRYOUT FOR EXTREME?
Any recreational or competitive soccer player in the Tulsa area that feels they have the skills and dedication to train and play at some of the highest levels in youth soccer.

WHERE ARE TRYOUTS CONDUCTED?
The Owasso Soccer Club game fields located at the Owasso Sports Park on 116th Street N just west of Garnett. If weather is questionable on Tryout Day, please call our Training/Field Status Hotline at 493-3636 # 9.

WHO IS THE COACH FOR MY CHILD'S AGE GROUP?
Coaches for age groups will be posted on this website under TRYOUTS and on the Green Country Soccer Association website and tryout circular. However, for the most up to date information, we suggest that you visit this site regularly to ensure you have the most accurate information.

WHAT TIME WILL MY CHILD TRYOUT?
Again, this information will be posted on the EFC webiste under TRYOUTS. It's a good idea to check out our individual team pages for additional info and tryout dates.

WHAT DO I DO WHEN I GET THERE?
After entering the Owasso Sports Complex, take your first left to enter the main soccer parking lot. You will see a row of Royal Blue tents set up in the green space in front of the concession area. EFC staff in the tent area will direct you to the appropriate sign in table for your player. After completing the sign in process your player will be directed to the appropriate field for his/her age group. Parents are welcome to stay during the tryout session, but must remain behind the tape in the Check In area. No parents are allowed on the playing fields before, during or after the tryout session. Should your child need you, he/she will be sent back to the Check In area or EFC Staff will call you at the Emergency contact number listed on the Check In sheet. It's a good idea for players to take everything they need with them and use the restroom, etc. before taking the field to tryout.

WHAT DO I BRING TO TRYOUTS?
Player: Cleats, Ball, Shin Guards, Water, Good Attitude, Hard Work Ethic
Parent: Checkbook, Copy of Player's Birth Certificate, Insurance Information

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER TRYOUTS?
If you are asked to join a team: Your coach will send you back to the Check In area to start the registration process. There your parent will fill out your registration form, medical release form, Parent/Player commitments and a few other EFC documents. Please be prepared to fill out these documents at the tryout session as you will not be able to take them home with you. You will also submit a copy of your player's birth certificate at this time. EFC Staff will photograph each player for his/her player pass and fit each player for his/her uniform.
Important! Registration fees, 50% down payment on your uniform and all registration documents are required as soon as you are told by your coach that you've made the team. Failure to do this may result in a player losing his/her spot on the team.

If you are asked to return for the next tryout: No paperwork is required. Return at the next scheduled tryout time and work even harder. Sometimes coaches really like a player, but want to take a second look.

If you aren't told anything: Make sure you check with your coach before you leave. Sometimes you'll be asked to return for the next tryout and other times you'll be informed that you may just not be ready for competitive soccer yet, or your skill sets aren't a good match for this particular team.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND
This is competitive soccer which means there are "A" teams and "B" teams.
EFC strives to form the strongest teams possible. In the event that the number of skilled players allows the formation of multiple teams, the strongest team or "A" team will be formed first, with an additional team or "B" team formed second. Trying out for Extreme does not assure you a spot on any team. Inevitably some players will be turned away. It is wise to research various teams and clubs in the area before trying out for a competitive club and focus on the 2 that fit you, your child and your family the best. In the event that a spot is not available for your child on their first choice, you can always follow up with your second choice to tryout with them later that day or week. Be prepared and have an idea of the options for your child before you take them to that first tryout.
